Fishing for Northern Pike
Although they are one of our native game fish, the bass and walleye have reduced the number of northern pike in our lakes. However, the northern pike are in every lake in our area and provide good secondary fishing, but they rarely are the primary game fish of a lake. We catch them in the 2 to 6 pound range, and fish for them off rocky points and in shallow weedy bays. Beware of heir sharp teeth and gills, as they can give you a small cut very quickly. We fish them with daredevil spoons and jointed baits.
